The Government Council of the Cat Fancy (GCCF) refers to the breed as a Tabby Point Siamese (to make things even more confusing). However, due to the breed’s popularity as far back as the 60s, what some refer to as the Lynx Point Siamese is also called the Lynx Colorpoint Shorthair. The Cat Fanciers’ Association only recognizes the following colorations within the Siamese breed standards: The Lynx Point Siamese is not an actual breed, although the original breeding pair did contain a purebred Siamese and a Domestic Shorthair Tabby cat.
